The Reach of a Painting
I have received numerous requests from all over the world to use my
painting, GRIEF, for seminars, lectures, grief counseling sessions,
cover for Women's Review of Books, cover for a Dutch psychology book, religious retreats, etc.
Sometimes, I discover the image being used without my permission for
blogs and Facebook pages. Most are not aware that it is illegal to use
copyrighted works without permission.
It has been uplifting to know that my painting has touched so many hearts over the years. It is more than an artist could hope for.

Exciting News!
I am now a designer for ShopVIDA! This is a new concept for a
company and a new project for me. ShopVIDA uses artists's paintings or
photographs to make them into wearable art. Part of the earnings will
be used to send their overseas workers to literacy schools. My
designs (four for now) will be used on scarves ($40) and a silk sleeveless
top ($75). Use the code VIDAVOICES to get 20% off your order. A minimum
of 3 orders of every design is required to put it into production,
unfortunately, but this should improve as the company grows. There are
artists all over the world participating so, please check it out! The
link below will take you to my designs.

Art in Bookhill Bistro, Georgetown DC
A friend and fellow artist, Elba Molina, and I hung our paintings at Bookhill Bistro in upper Georgetown (1639 Wisconsin Avenue NW) yesterday afternoon. Mori, the owner, was kind enough to give us a free rein to hang our art on his nice walls. To DC residents, please drop by (the bistro is open every day except Mondays) to sample the good food and wine he offers and to see our art. The patio is lovely, especially at this time of year.
